Jennifer Aniston & David Schwimmer Say They Almost Got Together For Real During 'Friends'

Their first kiss was Ross and Rachel's first kiss.

With their characters getting together or almost getting together so many times throughout the show, you might be wondering, "did any of the Friends cast ever hook up?"

During the new reunion special, it was actually revealed that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer almost got together in real life while filming the original series.

In what was one of the most memorable moments of Friends: The Reunion, the cast got asked if they ever had off-screen romances. Schwimmer said he had a major crush on Aniston in the first season, who then revealed that the crush was mutual but that they never ended up crossing the boundary from friends to something more.

"I remember saying one time to David, 'It's going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is going to be on national television.' Sure enough, first time we kissed is in that coffee shop," Aniston said. "So we just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel."

Schwimmer later wondered how nobody knew they were into each other and both Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry revealed that they knew. Cox said that if the pair had done something about their feelings for each other, Ross and Rachel's story might not have been so great.
