You've probably been waiting in tense anticipation all your lives to find out where the best place for a bathroom break is. So, I'm happy to announce that the finalists for Canada's best restrooms. Alberta has the honour of claiming two of the five coveted positions, but they might not be what you'd expect. For example, one of them is found in a humble Albertan trailer park.

In what's perhaps the most important news of the year, tile and carpet cleaning company Cintas Canada unveiled the final contenders for their prestigious Canada's Best Restroom contest.

These five fancy washrooms span the length of Canada, with two in Ontario, one in Nova Scotia, and two in Alberta.

Canadians are now being asked to vote for their favourites by Friday, August 14. The winner will take home a $2,500 worth of facility services, a Cintas Ultraclean restroom cleaning service, and eternal glory, according to their release.

But while other contenders sport chandeliers, murals, and leather sofas, one finalist has no need of any of them. Meet Westview RV Park, the family-owned and operated campground nearby Wetaskiwin.

"Westview wanted to give its customers the five-star treatment and make them feel comfortable while staying at the park," reads a description on the ranking.

According to the judges, the restroom's concrete countertops and "fancy tile" place it a cut above the rest as the "most unbelievable campground washroom anywhere."

Plus, the epoxy floors help reduce slippage and its rounded corners allow for ease of cleaning. And there's one more thing this park has that the others lack — working showers.

According to the contest, the finalist restrooms were judged based on five criteria: "cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements."

To enter the contest, anyone could nominate any restroom facility to be judged, as long as its owner approves. The only condition is it must be open to the public and it can't be a previous finalist.

Some may scoff at the humble trailer park bathroom, but when it comes down to it, I certainly know where I'm camping this summer.
