Elections Canada says you'll get your voter card this week — Here's what to do if you don't
Everything you need to know. 👇

Voter Information Cards are being mailed out to Canadians this week.
If you're eligible to vote in the 2025 federal election, there's a good chance something important is headed to your mailbox this week.
Elections Canada has officially started mailing out voter information cards — and if you're registered, you should have yours by this Friday.
These little cards aren't just a flyer — they include key info for election day, like where and when to vote, plus details about accessibility at your polling place.
According to Elections Canada, most Canadians are already registered, so if you're on the list, your card is already on its way and should arrive by April 11.
But if Friday comes and goes and your mailbox is still empty, that could be a sign something's off. You might not be registered, or your registration info might need an update — especially if you've moved recently.
The federal elections service says you can easily check your status or register online using its Online Voter Registration Service. If your card shows the wrong address, you'll want to fix that ASAP too — and you can also do that through the online portal.
Elections Canada also notes that if a voter card arrives for someone who has died or no longer lives at your address, these should be reported to the local office in your riding. The same goes for if your voter card has any errors in your name.
You can find your riding's local Elections Canada office by entering your postal code into Elections Canada's online Voter Information Service.
The card isn't technically required to vote, but bringing it with you can make things smoother at the polls. Plus, it even works as proof of address — just pair it with an accepted piece of ID to confirm your identity. Elections Canada has a full list of what counts as acceptable ID, so it's worth double-checking before you head in.
Also, if you're looking to make a little extra cash while supporting democracy, Elections Canada is hiring. There are paid jobs available across the country for the election — you can apply online or contact your local office to get involved.
With the 2025 federal election less than three weeks away, this is the time to make sure everything's in order. Whether it's checking your registration, sorting out your ID or just keeping an eye on the mail — getting prepped now will save you the stress on April 28.
