To ring in 2021 and help get your year off to a good start, the fast-food chain offering a freebie when you order through its app.

$1 How much you must spend to get a freebie

Until January 3, you can get free medium fries or a free McCafé hot beverage, which includes coffee.

All you have to do is place an order through the McDonald's app that costs more than $1.

It's free to download the app and register, so it's pretty easy to get the new year savings.

There's a limit of one free item per customer, so you can't get this deal multiple times throughout the weekend.

If you're a java junkie, Tim Hortons recently revealed which coffee was ordered the most in Canada throughout 2020.

There was also one donut that reigned supreme, but the fried favourites totally varied from region to region!
