Pro-Trump Rioters shocked the world on Wednesday as they stormed the United States Capitol building, effectively taking it over and forcing house members and senators to evacuate.

Now it seems that everyone's favorite time-travelers, The Simpsons, actually predicted this event happening many many years ago.

We predicted that he would be president back in 2000 – but Trump was of course the most absurd placeholder joke name that we could think of at the time, and that’s still true. It’s beyond satire. Matt Groening told The Guardian

An episode that aired all the way back in 1996 was originally thought the be a parade of the famed School House Rock skit "I'm Just A Bill," which shows the bill signaling some other rowdy bills to enter the building.

The scene looks ever so familiar to what actually went down at the Capitol building.

The wreckage caused by the rioters can also be seen in a more recent Simpson's episode, which was released in October 2020.

The episode shows an apocalyptic looking America on the date January 20, 2021, which is also the day Joe Biden is set to be inaugurated.

The disastrous sight depicted in the show can also be compared to what the Capitol building looked like on the day of the siege.

Let's just all hope there is in fact not an apocalyptic civil war waiting for us on January 20.

This is not the first time the famed cartoon predicted the future, as it also seems they knew about the Coronavirus pandemic many years ago.

They even went as far as to predict people begging for a vaccine and getting "Murder Hornets" instead.
