One of Vancouver's biggest TV productions will soon be back in business. Riverdale filming is set to resume in Vancouver, Canada soon. The show will complete the filming of season 4 and then begin filming season 5. Though, most of the Riverdale cast and crew will have to go through quarantine in Canada before they can officially begin shooting.

Cast member Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty, went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, August 18, and offered some updates on the cast's return to Canada and what can be expected from the upcoming episodes.

"We're about to go back in a couple of days," she said. "Well, I have to quarantine for two weeks."

She told Fallon that the show shut down production back in March while they were in the middle of shooting an episode. Therefore, the show will finish filming the last three episodes of season 4 before moving onto season 5.

Reinhart also announced that the show will introduce a seven-year time jump in season 5.

The studio that owns Riverdale, WarnerBros. TV announced that they've set a tentative start date for filming in Vancouver: sometime between August 20 and August 27, according to Deadline.

But as per B.C. COVID-19 rules, all international arrivals have to self-isolate for 14 days.

Therefore, the  Riverdale cast have been preparing for their return to shooting.

Madelaine Petsch who plays Cheryl shared an Instagram story in mid-August in which she said farewell to her quarantine plants.

"@ me legitimately crying over all the plants Iโ€™ve raised in this quarantine in my home that now will be without their mother when I go back to Vancouver," she wrote alongside a photo of her plant.

According to JustJaredJr, Lead actor K.J. Apa who plays Archie shared an Instagram story on Monday, August 17, that said, "Excited for the long grind. SEASON 5."

Show executive Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said on Instagram, "at long last, the offices are open and we are in pre-production on Season 5 of #Riverdale!!"

He tagged the location as Vancouver, Canada.

So it's safe to say that if you're in Vancouver, you can expect to see many of the Riverdale stars around once they've finished quarantine.

Though it's anybody's guess as to what season 5 is going to look like, B.C. filming laws in light of COVID-19 might make it harder for some of your favourite characters to take part in steamy scenes.
