Several food products are being recalled across Canada, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is urging consumers to be cautious and check their groceries.

These food recalls are affecting a variety of items, including popular products like prepackaged pasta, smoked salmon, chicken nuggets and chocolates. The reasons behind these recalls include dangerous contaminants like listeria, mould and even plastic pieces found in certain foods.

If you've recently bought any of the recalled items, it's important to avoid consuming them and either dispose of them or return them to the store. Stay informed about the latest food recalls in Canada to keep yourself and your family safe.

Here are five of the most recent food recalls across Canada that you should be on the lookout for:

Recalled products: Rana Tagliatelle Seasoned White Chicken & Mushroom Sauce, 1.14 kg — all best-before dates from October 10 to November 16, 2024

Recall reason: Rana Meal Solutions LLC is recalling certain prepackaged pasta sold across Canada due to possible listeria contamination after a recall of the same product in another country.

"Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick," the CFIA says. "Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk."

Recall reason: Several beef deli products sold across Ontario under various brand names and house labels are being recalled due to possible listeria contamination after a CFIA inspection into a foodborne illness outbreak in which illnesses associated with the consumption of these products were reported.

The CFIA says it is verifying that the industry is removing all recalled products from the marketplace, but urges consumers not to eat, serve or sell any of these products. "The recalled products may have been sold by various retailers, either clerk-served, sliced, chunked or in smaller packages, with or without a label that may not bear the same brand, product name or best before date," it says. "Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased the recalled product are advised to contact their retailer."
