I Used This KitchenAid Stand Mixer To Make My Favourite Italian Foods & Here’s My Honest Review

It comes in so many Insta-worthy colours but is it worth the price tag?

From chocolate chip cookies to homemade pasta, there's a lot you can make with a stand mixer. If you don't already have one passed down from your parents, buying one can be challenging since they're pretty expensive.

Luckily, the KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer is on sale at a bunch of different stores across Canada and you can buy it for as little as $379.99 (that's a savings of $250!)

I received the stand mixer in Pistachio for review purposes and spent a whole week making biscotti, focaccia and pasta.

What I Liked About The Most The Product

I really liked the size of the mixing bowl which allowed me to make a ton of food. The pouring shield is a great feature. I found it's easier to add flour from a smaller container versus the large mixing bowl to avoid getting flour on top of the pouring shield.

The pasta attachments that came with the box were super easy to use!

What I Didn't Like About The Product

The mixer moves around a little when you're kneading dough at medium to high speeds. If the mixing bowl isn't securely attached, and you're mixing heavy batters, it can cause the bowl to detach from the stand mixer.

Now, this wouldn't necessarily stop me from buying, but it's something to be mindful of, especially if you're working on a counter with limited space. I wouldn't recommend you set your stand mixer set up near a ledge where it could potentially fall off.

Would I Recommend This Product?

I've always been a fan of the brand when it comes to stand mixers and their latest version is totally splurge-worthy. I highly recommend the mixer to anyone who loves to bake. It's the perfect way to impress friends and family at your next dinner party!
