Trudeau Says That Canada Is Preparing For Any Outcome In The U.S. Presidential Election

What will happen on November 3?
Contributor

There are only 11 days left until the U.S. presidential election, and Justin Trudeau has said that he and his government are preparing for any outcome.

During an October 23 press conference, the prime minister was asked if he still had confidence in the American voting process following the final debate between the two candidates.

Trudeau said that he remains hopeful that things will go smoothly and that his government is getting itself ready for any outcome.

He added that he will continue to stand up for the interests of Canadians and do what it takes to keep them safe during the pandemic.

Trudeau mentioned that in dealing with the current administration, his government was able to stand up for Canadian steel and aluminum workers, seemingly in reference to tariffs the Trump administration put in place.

With Americans making their decision on November 3, national polling averages from FiveThirtyEight put Democratic challenger Joe Biden nearly 10 points ahead.

Even if the United States has a new president in 2021, the economic outlook for Canada could be negative.
