Superstar actor Matthew McConaughey is pairing with his whiskey brand Wild Turkey to thank those who have helped others during the pandemic.

Four "Local Legends" were selected, each one being from a different city, and were each given a personalized gift for all of their hard work during what has been a challenging year for everybody.

Two of the heroes were given all-expense-paid vacations when the pandemic ends, while the other two were given significant financial donations to help their personal lives and organizations.

"It felt more important than ever to recognize the unsung heroes who have consistently and steadfastly supported their neighbors and their communities," Wild Turkey Creative Director Matthew McConaughey

The first hero that was thanked was singer/songwriter Nakia Reynoso of Austin, Texas, who raised over $1 million to help local musicians affected by the pandemic.

He and his partner were gifted an all-expense paid vacation to Las Vegas.

The second hero is of Chicago, Illinois, and goes by the name of Tanya Lozano.

She teamed up with other organizations in Chicago to start an initiative called "We Got Us," which provided over 1,000 care packages for underserved communities that were hit hard by COVID-19.

Lozano's father fell gravely ill at the start of pandemic, so McConaughey and Wild Turkey are now taking care of the medical expenses.

The next legend is Devin De Wulf, who comes out of New Orleans, Louisianna.

He helped gathered money to buy food from local restaurants and feed thousands of essential workers, which helped both the restaurant industry and the hungry.

De Wulf is now receiving a significant donation to open official office space for his operations.

Last but certainly not least is Shawana Carter of Dallas, Texas, who founded a non-profit called "Carter's House," which has helped thousands of Dallas families in need during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

McConaughey and Wild Turkey will be sending Carter and her daughters to Mexico on vacation once these hard times wrap up.
