Contributor

With the weather turning cooler, it's the perfect time to get out and explore the hidden waterways of Florida. One touring company in South Florida will lead you and your crew on a mysterious experience. This Florida kayaking tour near Jupiter will take you through a maze of mysterious mangroves.

Just in time for fall, Jupiter Outdoor Center is leading a Mangrove Mystery Tour which will take you through a lush world of mangroves and make you feel as if you're in Panama.

Not only will you kayak through tropical mangrove mazes, but it's also affordable as well.

A lush and mysterious maze

The Mangrove Mystery Tour will take you through some of the region's more jungle-like mangrove forests.

The trek takes 90 minutes and will let you explore the waterways of the lower Loxahatchee River.

This waterway is lined with mangroves, giving off a mysterious and labyrinthine appearance.

The paddling experience on the Loxahatchee River is moderate at its hardest, and some of the mangrove trees crisscross the water, which you'll have to navigate either under or around.

You don't have to be an expert kayaker to enjoy this tour, as all experience levels are welcome.

There is even more to the mangrove maze

While the paddle through the Loxahatchee River is the main draw, the Mangrove Mystery Tour will also take you to other spellbinding places.

If the weather permits, you'll also pass by the Jupiter Lighthouse and kayak to Sawfish Bay.

The Bay is home to two mangrove islands that can be an excellent spot for bird watching.

The tour will also take you into the Indian River Lagoon, home to even more twisting and spiraling trees, and may give you the chance to see the Lagoon's marine life up-close-and-personal.

An inexpensive journey

The Mangrove Mystery Tour is an exciting experience that won't make you go broke in the process.

It will only cost $40 per person and $45 for a one-person kayak or paddleboard. If you plan on taking a friend with you, that price rises to $90 for a tandem kayak.

The tour will start at the Jupiter Lighthouse and make its way through the Loxahatchee River into Sawfish Bay.

If you want to make the tour a more romantic one, the Jupiter Outdoor Center also offers a Sunset and Stargazing Tour that runs for two hours and will take you down the Intracoastal Waterway at twilight.
