Over Half Of Canadians Are Confident The Country Will Take Home The 2021 Stanley Cup Win

A lot of folks think the Toronto Maple Leafs could win it all! 🍁
Contributor

Is this the year? It looks like Canadians are super optimistic about the hockey playoffs coming up in May and think that Canada will bring home the Stanley Cup!

In fact, 57% of Canadians believe that a team from the True North will reign supreme on the ice, a survey by Narrative Research found.

Editor's Choice:

The online survey took place between February 18-23, 2021, with 1,230 Canadians who had their say on one of Canada's favourite sports.

Of all the Canadian teams that will play in the playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs are believed to be the ones who will come out victorious, with 24% of Canadians believing they will win even though the last time they won the cup was in 1967. Additionally, 14% think the Montreal Canadiens could win.

"A handful of Canadians mention the Vancouver Canucks (4%), Edmonton Oilers (3%), or Winnipeg Jets (3%). Fewer mention the Calgary Flames (2%) or the Ottawa Senators (1%). Perhaps unsurprisingly, residents who are from a team’s province are more likely to believe they will win the Stanley Cup," the report read.
