Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the prime minister has been delivering daily updates from his home. While his suits vary and the statements change, his long, pandemic-inspired hair has been a comforting and consistent presence. While Justin Trudeau’s lockdown hair has many fans on social media, some are wondering whether a haircut is finally on the horizon.

Earlier this week, the province of Ontario announced that salons across most of the region will be able to reopen from Friday, June 12.

As many Ontarians rush to make hair appointments to fix their pandemic styles, Canadians on Twitter have been wondering whether the PM has lined up a haircut.

Over the last couple of months, Trudeau has been spotted with increasingly long locks, a style which has caused him to do several now-famous hair flips.

With a potential trim on the horizon, fans of Trudeau’s longer locks are taking to social media to share their love and appreciation for the PM’s more laid-back look.

In a tweet this week, one parent explained, “Heard on CBC radio this morning that hair salons and barbershops can open as of Friday. 6yo commented out of the blue: 'Yay! Justin Trudeau can finally get a haircut.'"

Many Canadians have found themselves relating to the prime minister since he’s been experimenting with his lockdown hair style. Others have found pretty funny comparisons to describe Trudeau’s new look.

One Twitter user joked, “Trudeau’s really getting to the full lego man hair level now.”

Another used a Star Wars comparison, noting, “Justin Trudeau looks like he’s about to roll out and cosplay as a random Jedi with that hair and that beard.”

Online, there seems to be many fans of Trudeau’s more relaxed haircut. One Twitter user stated, “Trudeau's hair is so fluffy... i love lmao.”

Another wrote, “Y’all can talk sh*t about Trudeau but his curly hair is hot.”

However, not everybody approves of the new look. One Canadian tweeted to say, “Can someone please give Justin Trudeau a haircut and a beard trim? Enough is enough.”

Somebody else added, “Justin Trudeau, cut your goofy hair and scraggly ass beard challenge.”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Trudeau’s daily press briefings have brought attention to more than just his hair.

His infamous “speaking moistly” moment is likely to be remembered for years to come, and his random hiccuping also went viral on Twitter.

For now, only time will tell what becomes of his lockdown locks!
