Paul Bernardo has just been charged with a new crime, even though he's literally sitting in jail. Paul Bernardo is one of the most infamous serial killers in Canada.

Paul Bernardo is a convicted serial killer from Scarborough, Ontario. He with his wife, Karla Homolka, lured girls into their home to do unspeakable things to the unsuspecting victims. The deadly duo is also known as the Ken and Barbie Killers, murdering multiple people and raped more than a dozen young women.

Even though he's currently in prison, he's been charged with possession of a weapon. According to court documents, Bernardo was found with a homemade shank composed of a screw and a pen for a handle, allegedly for the purpose of committing an offence.

The offence date is listed back to February 9th, 2018.

Bernardo just appeared in court for his hearing. According to CTV News Toronto, a reporter inside the hearing said Bernardino was smiling and laughing at someone who they presume to be a prison guard, as he waited for the hearing to begin.

Bernardo became eligible for day parole last year. However now that he has been charged with this new crime, it will definitely impact  his bid for parole.

Bernardo is currently serving a life sentence for the kidnapping, rapes and murders of Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French.
