It took Florida less than two weeks to record more than 100,000 new COVID-19 cases.

The state zoomed pass the 300K mark on Wednesday after it recently recorded 200,111 during the 4th of July weekend.

The rising number has caused local officials to step up.

Many of the state's cities and counties have mandated face masks to be worn in public to combat the spread. 

The 10,181 cases added on Wednesday was the fourth time in five days the state hit more than 10,000 COVID-19 cases.
