This quaint Ontario town is a cherry blossom paradise and feels like a spring trip to Europe

It's a magical spot for a spring day trip.

Lead Writer, Travel

You don't have to hop on a plane to get a little taste of springtime in Europe. This enchanting Victorian town near Toronto is a cherry blossom paradise that will whisk you away to another world.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a picturesque village nestled in Ontario's wine country, just under 2 hours from Toronto.

According to Visit Niagara, the town has "Victorian era 19th Century charm" and offers "boutique shops, cast-iron planters bursting with flowers, and horse-drawn carriages transporting riders to another time and place."

The village bursts into bloom during the spring season, boasting flower-filled streets and European vibes.

From late April to early May, you can find cherry blossoms dotted throughout the town, adding a magical touch to the storybook village.

According to Visit Niagara-on-the-Lake, some of the best spots to see the cherry blossoms include the Niagara Parkway near Fort George, McFarland Park and Queenston Heights Park. You can also see some throughout the downtown and around the Prince of Wales Hotel.

The town is surrounded by beautiful wineries, many of which have beautiful blossom-filled vineyards to explore.

This year, the first annual Niagara-on-the-Lake In Bloom Festival will take place from May 9 to 12. The floral-themed event will transform the streets of historic Old Town with gorgeous blooms and displays.

With flower-filled patios and a garden fair, it's a magical way to celebrate the season.

If you're dreaming of cherry blossom views and old-world charm, Niagara-on-the-Lake is the place to be.

Weather conditions can affect the cherry blossoms, so be sure to check for bloom updates.
