With warmer weather on the way, it's the perfect time to plan a small-town escape. This charming village is just an hour away from Toronto, and it's a mini spring paradise.

Nestled along the shores of Lake Scugog, this quaint small town is "the ideal destination for a springtime day trip or weekend getaway," according to a press release.

Port Perry is an old-world town with shining water views and historic streets. During the spring season, the destination comes alive with outdoor adventures and vibrant attractions.

You can "stroll through the Victorian downtown, where the smell of fresh blooms meets the buzz of local boutiques, restaurants, and cafes."

There are many shops and eateries to check out, including Books Galore, Branching Out Florists and Nexus Coffee.

If you're feeling hungry, some top spots to visit include Pickles & Olives Bistro, Foundry Kitchen & Bar and The Piano Inn and Cafe.

You don't want to miss out on a stop at Hank's Pastries, where you can find the Big-As-Your-Face Apple Fritter.

Palmer Park is a beautiful spot for a springtime stroll and offers picturesque lake views. You can grab a gelato and soak in the smell of spring as you wander along the waterfront.

You can also enjoy the waterfront farmers' market, which runs on Saturdays from May 10 until Thanksgiving.
