We asked readers on Narcity Canada's Facebook page for the best Ontario small towns to visit in 2025. The post has since gained over 100 responses and this charming lakeside village was one of the top-voted destinations.

Port Perry is a cozy hidden gem with water views and old-world streets. Located just an hour away from Toronto, it's a great spot for a day trip or longer stay.

According to Port Perry BIA, it's "Ontario's favourite lakeside heritage town" and offers a range of things to do and enjoy year-round.

The downtown is brimming with cute local shops and you'll want to peek inside every one of them. From clothing stores to florists and bakeries straight out of a storybook, there's lots to discover. You can grab a drink from one of the may cafes lining the streets and spend some time wandering in and out of the shops.

Palmer Park features lake views and is a gorgeous spot to relax. During the summer months, you can cool off with a gelato as you soak up the scenery.

The Port Perry Farmers' Market runs on Saturdays from May to Thanksgiving and is full of local goods and unique finds.

When it comes to dining, some top spots to visit include Pickles & Olives Bistro, Foundry Kitchen & Bar and The Piano Inn and Cafe.

The town hosts festivals throughout the year as well as seasonal activities such as skating in the winter and boating during the summer.
