The Canadian Forces Are Heading To Nova Scotia As The Province Locks Down
Schools, non-essential stores and long-term care homes will be closing.👇
Premier Iain Rankin has announced a new Nova Scotia shutdown for two weeks, as the number of COVID-19 cases in the province continue to climb.
In a tweet on Tuesday, April 27, Rankin confirmed that effective from 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday there would be a "province-wide shut down."

This includes the closure of all schools in the region, as well as non-essential services like shopping malls, retail locations, personal care outlets, restaurants and bars. Long-term care homes will also close to members of the public.
On the same day, Canada's Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair confirmed that members of the Canadian Forces would be deployed to Nova Scotia to "support their healthcare system against the surge in #COVID19 cases."
Blair added that the Canadian Forces will assist with providing "administrative and logistical assistance at COVID-19 testing sites throughout the province beginning on April 27."
