Tornado Warnings Have Been Issued For Multiple Regions In Southern Ontario

Seek shelter and stay safe!
Contributor

Some extreme weather could be on the way, as Ontario tornado warnings have been issued for a number of different areas.

Parts of southern Ontario including the Barrie-Orillia-Midland and Parry Sound-Muskoka regions are being told to prepare for intense thunderstorms that may produce tornados.

The approaching system may also be capable of producing damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall.

Environment Canada

Environment Canada is advising anyone who sees any early warning signs of a tornado, such as a forming funnel cloud or flying debris, to seek shelter immediately.

Residents are instructed to go to a room on the lowest floor of their home away from doors and windows and stay there until the storm passes.

Other nearby municipalities are under tornado watches and should be prepared for any inclement weather.

That includes the Grey-Bruce, London-Middlesex, and Peterborough-Kawartha Lakes areas.

Numerous southern Ontario regions are being warned about the potential for severe storms throughout the late afternoon and evening as well.
