Another lab in Central Florida has been selected to run a COVID-19 vaccine trial, and will even compensate participants with an amount comparable to another round of stimulus checks. Promising fast results and a hopeful slow in the spread of the virus, volunteers are able to sign up right now. While the study is a long-term commitment, the potential earnings may make it worth the time.

Accel Clinical Research in DeLand is looking for 2,500 participants to study in the trial over a course of 25 months with compensation up to $1,200.

While anyone is free to apply, the clinic is particularly looking for those that would be considered high-risk for contracting COVID-19, such as health care workers, theme park staff, factory workers, and more.

If you’re looking to volunteer, you’ll be set up with an appointment at the clinic to learn more about what the study entails. If you meet the criteria and sign the consent form, you will be vaccinated immediately.

Dr. Bruce Rankin told FOX35 that he was confident in the vaccine and that it would be historic in mitigating the pandemic.

“We want to be able to see the effectiveness of the vaccine,” said Dr. Rankin. “When you’re looking at effectiveness, you need to get the group that is going to be the highest risk of getting the infection.”

Throughout the length of the study, staff will check up on the patients regularly to monitor how they’re doing. This is the second lab in the state of Florida to be selected to run a trial vaccine.

Dr. Rankin also assured FOX35 that he felt the trial was a safe and effective way for volunteers to play a part in helping society find a sense of normalcy again.

If you are interested in participating in the trial, you can call 386-785-2400 for more information or submit your inquiry online.
