While we’re not quite ready to let go of summer yet, it’s never too early to start working on your autumn bucket list! If you want to find fall colours in Ottawa, this place has got you covered. It’s just an easy hike through the forest, but you’ll find extraordinary views.

When fall rolls around in O-Town, nothing is more breathtaking than the red, gold, amber, orange and yellow foliage that surrounds the city.

While you’re likely to get a taste of this autumnal glory wherever you are in the city, there’s a few places you can go to discover the best possible fall views.

One of these unmissable spots is King Mountain, located just 30 minutes outside of downtown Ottawa.

The King Mountain Trail is an easy, 1.8-kilometre loop through a forest, leading you to an elevated lookout point.

Here, you’ll discover a view of hundreds upon hundreds of trees, in every shade of green, brown, gold, red and orange that you can think of!

Not only is it the perfect spot for a seasonal picnic, it's super cozy, romantic and ideal for any fall-inspired Instagram photos.

The leaves will start to change in September, and remain colourful through October.

Located in Gatineau Park, this adventure is suitable for almost all fitness levels and all ages.

That said, it’s worth noting that some stairs are included as part of the 1.8-kilometre loop.

There’s also a picnic area, toilets and free parking.

Unfortunately for pet-lovers, dogs are not permitted on this trail. That said, there are still plenty of scenic places nearby to hang out with your furry friends.

If you’re not ready to fall in love with fall again just yet, the National Capital Region is jam-packed with stunning summer hikes to enjoy, too.

If you’re really looking for an O-Town adventure, you can explore a hike that takes you to a hidden marble cave, or discover the trail that leads to secret sand dunes.
