Summer vacation in O-Town just got a little longer. On Tuesday, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) agreed to delay the school year by an additional few days.

The decision was made in order to give parents, teachers and administrators a little more time to get prepared.

The update will only affect students who planned to return by following the staggered schedule on September 3 and 4.

It was also announced this week that Ottawa school buses wouldn’t be running until September 14, a fact that contributed to the board’s latest decision.

During the five-hour meeting, trustees also voted against a plan requiring all young students to wear masks during the school day.
