For those looking for a relaxing getaway, searching for a motel may not be the first thing you type into Google.

Motels may have had a not-so-great rep over the years, but it's time to throw all of that out the window because Ontario's The June Motel is turning that on its head.

Not your typical motel, the June is a hip boutique getaway found in Sauble Beach and Prince Edward County. Aesthetically pleasing at every turn, this motel has the relaxed, beachy vibes Canadians usually fly south for. Vintage rattan furniture, hammocks, tropical plants and casually elegant guests make this the perfect destination for anyone looking to escape the city in style.

April Brown and Sarah Sklash founded their trendy motel in 2016 after quitting their jobs in Toronto to pursue the motel business full time. These Canadian entrepreneurs wanted to re-imagine the motel experience — and they did just that with The June, which became so successful and unique that it caught the attention of Netflix.

A brand-new series starring The June Motel, called Motel Makeover, will be released in over 190 countries all over the world on August 25.

The show follows April and Sarah on their journey to launch their second location of The June Hotel in Sauble Beach, Ontario, and kick-start their goal of launching a hospitality empire.

Throughout the series, renovation lovers in Canada and around the world will get to see this duo work their magic to turn the motel — which started out as old and unappealing — into a luxurious and sophisticated motel worthy of its name.

In celebration of the release of this new binge-worthy show, Netflix is offering Ontarians the chance to win a gift card for The June Motel that can be redeemed at either of the Sauble Beach or Prince Edward County locations.

In Prince Edward County, there are four rooms to choose from — including the Deluxe Studio and Rosé Suite — to meet your every desire and make your stay top tier.

Meanwhile, in their Sauble Beach location, you can choose between the Double (which has a wood-panelled feature headboard, retro surf prints and sun-bleached wallpaper) and the King (which comes with a king-sized designer bed, a blush glow and a spacious patio).

The June Motel at Sauble Beach is the focus of Netflix's Motel Makeover, which chronicles April and Sarah's adventures as they renovate the area's old and locally famous Knight's Inn Motel: "Junifying" it into a fresh, vibrant and trendy spot for visitors.

The show is chock-full of design tips, DIY revelations, neon signs, victories and struggles, following the team as they move into the motel, renovate, become first-time restaurant owners and start their motel empire — all in 2020, as the industry shifts around them.

Netflix's Motel Makeover also dives deep into the renovation of both types of rooms available at the Sauble Beach motel. A trip there means you'll be able to appreciate the effort that went into every detail, up close and in person.

And while you may have seen photos of the rooms, pool, shop and general vibes of new motel online, nothing beats a BTS sneak peek. You can catch Sarah and April as they open their second motel on Netflix's Motel Makeover from August 25, and you can enter the contest before September 2 for the chance to snag yourself a getaway gift card.
