There are plenty of areas in The Sunshine State that provide bike riders a challenge off the paved road. At one Florida trail, Carter Road Trails near Tampa, you can take your mountain bike on challenging and thrilling paths. Part of the trail also involves some truly wicked ramps.

The Cater Road Trails sits within the Loyce E. Harpe Park near Lakeland and is a destination for mountain bike enthusiasts and those wanting to test out some cool ramps.

The trail are 13 miles of trails that will take you through the lush woods and past ponds. Most of the trail is flat, making it great for leisure bikers.

There are parts of the trail, however, that are geared more toward experienced riders, and it's these offshoots where the serious rides take place.

One connector trail is known locally as the "rollercoaster," taking you up and down through steep hills that make it seem as if you're on a rollercoaster.

Along the rollercoaster trail, you'll get a view of the landscape that makes up the trail on both sides, passing by the park's numerous ponds and lakes.

Another trail is "the fingers," with surprising ramps along this trail, from ones that will give your serious hangtime to the "right turn wall," which will curve you around the bend on a wall-like ramp.

If you're not into going up and down hills, don't worry as the main branch of the bike trail is easy for regular casual riders.

The main trail will take you past vistas of the park and provide just enough challenge for you to work up a sweat.

The Carter Road Trails are free to enter and will take you on a wild natural ride, whether you're an experienced mountain biker or a casual one!
