Alberta Wants You To Get Thanksgiving Take-Out Or Tell Guests To Bring Their Own Food
Alberta wants you to go a different route for Thanksgiving this year.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province's top doctor, shared some advice on Thursday, September 24, on how you can enjoy a safe Thanksgiving in Alberta amidst the pandemic.

Consider having pre-portioned servings, ordering take-out or perhaps having guests bring their own food.

Hinshaw also said in her press conference that if you're planning to cook a huge feast, have only one person plate everyone's dinner so there's no sharing of utensils.
"Food plays a big part in many holiday get-togethers," said the doctor.
When you're shopping for your dinner, follow the usual protocols: adhere to physical distancing, wash or sanitize your hands, and wear a mask when required.
Dr. Hinshaw said it's best to keep gatherings to a maximum of 15 people, and they should be people in your established bubble.
"Smaller is safer," said Dr. Hinshaw. "This is not the time for large gatherings."
Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health also said that we are "all very much more aware than usual," about what we have to be thankful for this year.
In her speech, she acknowledged the work of health workers, pharmacy professionals, teachers, school staff, community organizations, scientists developing COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, and our loved ones supporting us through the months.
