An Ontario School Has A Cameo In Netflix's The Queen's Gambit

The province is a star!

After premiering on October 23, The Queen's Gambit quickly became the latest hit for Netflix, and it even has a few Canadian connections.

While most of the show was filmed in Germany, there were a few parts that were shot in downtown Toronto.

Along with those, however, were additional scenes shot at St. Andrew's College, a boys' boarding and a day school in Aurora.

"If you've watched The Queen's Gambit on Netflix, you may have recognized a familiar setting in the fifth episode!" the school wrote in a tweet.

"The show was filmed on campus last summer and features scenes from on the Quad, and inside Macdonald House."

The series stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a young chess prodigy who grapples with her own personal demons while mastering the game.

This isn't the only recent project that found stars hanging out near Ontario's capital city and the surrounding area.

Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson were also spotted in nearby Brampton filming their latest project, which is actually called The Man From Toronto.
