A Toronto Furniture Store Is Staying Open During Lockdown By Offering A New Food Market

It seems that one Toronto furniture store has found a loophole in the region's lockdown restrictions. 

Bowring, a North York store known for selling household items and furniture, opened up a new food market this week.

The expansion to food products has resulted in the retail store re-opening due to its sale of essential items, despite it being situated in a lockdown zone.

Narcity reached out to Bowring who confirmed that they were in fact offering indoor shopping at this time.

CP24 also reported that the store had released a flyer that states the location offers, "15,000 Sq. Ft. of savings on all tabletop, dining, grocery, living, home decor, lighting and so much more.”

It also encourages shoppers to try out their new food market while visiting. 

The City of Toronto reportedly has an "open investigation” on the store, but will not give any further details surrounding the opening. 

Under Toronto's lockdown, only stores that sell essential items such as food, hardware and pharmaceuticals are allowed to remain open.
