The City of Toronto has announced that they will be adding multiple COVID-19 immunization clinics around the city.

Mayor John Tory confirmed on Wednesday that the 6ix will be getting nine of the City-operated clinics in the coming months.

We expect our large vaccination clinics will be just one part of the overall vaccination effort. John Tory, Mayor of Toronto

The clinics will be located at the following addresses:

  • Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front St. W.
  • Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Rd.
  • Malvern Community Recreation Centre, 30 Sewells Rd.
  • The Hangar, 75 Carl Hall Rd.
  • Scarborough Town Centre, 300 Borough Dr.
  • Cloverdale Mall, 250 The East Mall
  • Mitchell Field Community Centre, 89 Church Ave.
  • North Toronto Memorial Community Centre, 200 Eglinton Ave. W.
  • Carmine Stefano Community Centre, 3100 Weston Rd.

The slated target for opening the immunization centres is early April. However, that'll depend on supply and direction from the province.

During the briefing, Tory noted that at least one of the clinics is already finished.

"It is good to know, that the Malvern Community Centre Clinic, for example, is fully assembled and ready to go as soon as vaccine supply becomes available," the mayor stated.

Once opened, they will operate seven days per week and are estimated to supply a combined total of more than 120,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses per week across all locations.

However, Tory states that this won't be the only place residents will be able to get their vaccines.

In fact, pharmacies and doctor offices are also expected to play a big part in the upcoming year.

"We expect the majority of people in fact will not be vaccinated at these sites," said Tory, "They're more likely to receive their vaccination at a pharmacy or from their doctor."
