The weekend is quickly approaching which means it's time to start thinking about date night in Toronto!

It's often said that food is the way to one's heart, and if that's the case, there are so many delicious things you can do with your partner from May 24 to 26 in the city.

Whether you're looking to get out and about and nibble on a few different things or get cozy over some delightfully boozy cocktails, here are a few ideas to get the romance rolling in the 6ix this weekend.

Address: 77 Adelaide St W., Toronto, ON M5H 1P9

Why You Need To Go: If you're looking for strong cocktails at a reasonable price, Edna + Vita — which recently opened in the spot where Reds used to be — is the place to go.

I recently tried their Hot Mess Margarita ($18) which is a delicious blend of Olmeca Altos tequila, jalapeno, peach, lime and spicy oregano. It's just a touch spicy (I think people who aren't great with spice would still be okay with it!) and the oregano adds a fun herbal element.

If you're looking for something non-alcoholic, the Prickly Pear Spritz ($8.50) is all kinds of fun with its hot pink hue and bits of floating gold glitter. For a touch of drama, try the Out Of Office ($18), a rum cocktail which comes served with a bubble of smoke on top that pops and reveals a delicious aroma.

And from Friday to Monday after 6 p.m., their house wine is only $1.00 per ounce!

Why You Need To Go: Whether or not you have any dietary needs, taking a look at and nibbling on some drool-worthy gluten-free offerings just sounds like a good time!

From pancakes to pizza, pastry, tacos, dumplings, spring rolls and more, there's likely something available to suit everyone's palate.

"Sample and take home sweet and savoury treats from top vendors from near and far, including Toronto’s own Wild Blue Bakery, Edible Options from St. Catharines, Joanie’s Pastries from London, The Bread Essentials from Etobicoke, Salted Sunday from Port Carling, and L’Artisan DĆ©lices Sans Gluten and Delicious Without from Montreal," says the event.
