People Actually Waited 2 Hours In Line To Get Their Haircut Today In Ontario (PHOTOS)
Today's the day! After months of waiting, people in certain regions of Ontario can finally get a haircut. Salons and barbershops across the province have opened their doors, and customers are already flocking to the venues for a much-needed new do. Dino's Barber Shop in Kingston experienced massive lineups this morning, with people waiting several hours for a trim.
Doug Ford gave the go-ahead for select businesses in less-affected areas of the province to open starting Friday, June 12.
The list included beauty salons, hairdressers, and barbers. One barbershop in Kingston, Ontario saw massive lines this morning as people arrived to get rid of their grown-out hairdos.
Dino's Barber Shop, located on Kingston's main street, was met with long queues of customers in desperate need of a trim.
The shop informed Narcity that some guests waited approximately two hours to get a cut, including one dedicated customer who is 100 years old.
After nearly three months of closure, Dino's expressed how nice it was to see returning customers, many of whom were rocking some crazy pandemic hairdos.
Even with the lineup, the shop is taking safety seriously.
Only two out of the four barbers are working and no more than five customers are allowed inside at a time.
An employee at the door ensures that everyone is wearing a mask and sanitizes their hands before entering.
No beard trimmings are being offered at the present time, and disposable capes are used during the haircut.
While several regions across Ontario can finally visit the salon, other areas, such as the GTA, will have to wait for the time being.
However, Toronto salons are still preparing for reopening, and have shared new procedures such as face shields and pre-screenings that they expect to use.
It is unclear when exactly the GTA will reopen its salons, so those hairdos will have to keep growing for now.
