This Ontario Health Unit Just Won The Race To 0 Active Cases Of COVID-19

It is the only spot in the province that has no cases right now.

An Ontario health unit is marking a significant milestone in its battle against COVID-19 this week.

Timiskaming Health Unit reported no new or active cases on Friday, becoming the first Ontario health unit in the last 30 days to have zero COVID-19 cases.*

While it is the only health unit to hit this milestone at the moment, other regions aren't that far behind them. As of Friday, Algoma Health Unit and Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District only have five active cases, while Northwestern is reporting eight.

The City of Toronto, which has a much larger population than some other districts, currently holds the spot for the highest number of active cases with 2,685.

Ontario is currently in the process of completing aand has expanded the eligibility of those who can book their second COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
