You'll Finally Be Able To Gather With 9 Friends Outdoors Starting This Weekend

Ontario will enter step one this Friday.

Contributing Writer

Ontario is scheduled to enter step one of its new reopening plan this Friday, which means you and your friend group can officially enjoy the summer weather together.

The provincial government announced its plan to transition into step one in a press release on Monday, a move that will loosen several restrictions including those on outdoor gatherings.

For example, you will now be able to attend social gatherings and organized public events outside, so long as the capacity is limited to 10 people. This is a five-person increase from the outdoor gathering limits that are currently in place.

Outdoor dining will also reopen and allow parties of up to four people per table, with the exception of larger households.

Weddings, funerals and religious services are also permitted. However, they must be capped at "the number of people that can maintain a physical distance of two metres."

Currently, indoor gatherings with people who aren't in your household are still not permitted.
