The parks are expecting long line-ups and delays.

It's time to grab your tents and camping gear. Ontario Parks has announced that they will be reopening for overnight camping as the province moves into step one on Friday.

On their website, Ontario Parks revealed that overnight stays at campgrounds, backcountry campsites and roofed accommodations including cabins, yurts and cottages will be permitted starting on June 11.

Due to the high volume of campers, parks are asking residents to expect delays and line-ups throughout the check-in process.

When arriving, there will be few things that are different from your normal camping experience. Showers and laundry facilities will be open but will be operating at a limited capacity.

Ontario Parks also states that some facilities, such as picnic shelter rentals, may be closed or operating at limited capacity depending on where you stay.

If you haven't already, you can make reservations up to five months in advance for the 2021 camping season.
