Here's What You're Still Allowed To Do This Weekend Under The Province's New Shutdown

Not everything is closed.
Contributing Writer

On Thursday, the Ontario government announced that the entire province would move into a shutdown on April 3.

While regions will see tighter restrictions, such as the closure of outdoor patios, there are still a few things that you can do this weekend.

Currently, the government is still encouraging people to get outside and you can gather with five other people outdoors.

You are also still allowed to see members of the same household. If you live alone, you can join one other family.

In-person shopping will also remain open but will be restricted to 50% capacity for grocery stores and other essential services and 25% for big box stores and other retail.

Weddings, funerals and religious services are still allowed to take place but will be reduced to 15% capacity indoors.

What is closed under the new shutdown?

While you are still able to have small outdoor gatherings and get outside, there are some things that will close under the new shutdown.

Both indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants is not allowed.

All indoor gatherings with people outside of your household are also prohibited.

On top of this, personal care services and fitness centers will also remain closed.
