Another quarantine hotel has declared an outbreak of COVID-19, this time in Mississauga.

According to Peel Region's list of workplace outbreaks, Hampton Inn and Suites on Caroga Drive near Pearson Airport has had a COVID-19 outbreak since May 8 and remains partially closed.

Both the Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport on Dixon Road and the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport Hotel have also reported outbreaks since the beginning of May.

Toronto and Peel recently issued Section 22 Orders that requires businesses with five or more COVID-19 cases among staff to close for a duration of ten days, if those cases span over the course of two weeks and may have been reasonably acquired in the workplace — however, some critical businesses are exempt from these closures.

None of these hotels have had to undergo full closures, despite the Crowne Plaza recording 13 cases, as officials claim the hotels are providing an essential service, according to reports by City News.
