You can paddle through a little piece of the Amazon at this Ontario river, and it's like being in another world.

Long Point Eco-Adventures will take you on a kayak tour down the exotic Big Creek, which is known as the "Canadian Amazon" due to the vegetation that covers its riverbanks.

The 4-hour adventure winds through the middle of Canada's Carolinian Forest, where grape, Virginia Creeper and Virgin's Bower vines cover the trees.

You can expect to see over 40 species of birds and wildlife like bald eagles, beavers, and white-tailed deer.

The 9-kilometre route is ideal for first-time kayakers, and you can book a spot online.
