Fancy a trip to Venice? You won't need your passport in order to get a taste of this famous Italian spot. Ontario has it's own version of the iconic city and while it may not be Italy, it's a dreamy spot for a day trip.
This community near Toronto is known as the "Venice of Ontario" due to the many canals that run through the area. There are actually over 10 miles of canals in total, as well as a picturesque waterfront with lake views.
The destination is located just under two hours from Toronto so you don't have to go far in order to find some Venice vibes.
Lagoon City is a community on the Eastern shore of Lake Simcoe. Featuring endless canals, it "offers the visitor a quiet escape from the urban world," as described on the website.
It's a beautiful spot to visit during the summer, when you can enjoy water sports and lounge on the sandy beach.
There are several resorts and inns that you can book an overnight stay at, as well as local restaurants where you can dig into a delicious meal.
You'll want to bring some comfy shoes, because there are several scenic trails to explore throughout the area.
