Get your swimsuit ready! Summer is just around the bend and if you're already dreaming of sandy shores and sunshine, you'll want to plan a trip to this dreamy white sand beach near Toronto.

The destination was recently named one of the top 10 most popular beaches in the world by online slots site Betway.

The study looked at "some of the most beautiful beaches in the world" which are home to "the world’s softest sand, clearest waters, and dramatic views that feel downright cinematic."

Three different factors were assessed to rank the beaches in order of popularity — Google search results, Instagram hashtag posts, and TikTok views.

This stunning white sand beach near Toronto came in at number eight on this list and is one of two Canadian beaches to make the top 10.

Wasaga Beach, located under two hours from Toronto, is a dreamy summer destination and received 4.6 / 100 on the popularity score, placing it at number eight on the list.

At over 14 kilometres in length, the landmark is the "World's Longest Freshwater Beach" and is home to "one of Ontario’s most unique coastal dune ecosystems," according to Wasaga Beach Tourism.

Each year, the beach draws millions of visitors from around the globe with its soft, sandy coastline and sparkling waters of Georgian Bay.

There are scenic boardwalk trails, water sport rentals, and a cute beach town nearby, so you can easily stay for a day or longer.

The other Canadian beach to make the top 10 is Wreck Beach in Vancouver, with a score of 3.5 / 100. The clothing-optional beach is known for its stunning views and scenic trails.

Another Ontario spot was named among the world's most popular beaches, although it didn't earn a place in the top 10.

The Bruce Peninsula received a score of 1.6 / 100 and with its tropical-like waters and stunning limestone coast, it's no wonder it's a hotspot for beach-goers.

The most popular beach over all is Laguna Beach, California, which received a score of 55 / 100 and is known for its dreamy coves and sparkling waters.

You can see the full list of beaches included in the ranking on the Betway website.
