Toronto FC Is Officially Coming Home & Hitting BMO Field This Saturday

And 7,000 lucky fans will get to watch the game live! ⚽️

Toronto Associate Editor

Dreams really do come true — Toronto FC had their wishes granted and will be coming home to play against Orlando FC this Saturday, July 17. To top it all off, some fans will be able to watch the game live at BMO Field.

The team announced they will have 7,000 fans at this weekend's game and is inviting frontline health care workers, first responders, and season seat members to be the first ones back in the stands.

Toronto FC will increase their capacity to accommodate 15,000 fans in time for the July 21 game, permitted under step three of Ontario's reopening plan.

The last time Toronto FC played on home soil was 10 months ago against Montreal. This will also be their first home game in front of fans since the March 2020 home opener.

TFC and Major League Soccer (MLS) are still in talks with the feds about future home game plans for MLS Canadian teams to host home matches after July 21.

Narcity's Ailish Forfar interviewed Michael Singh, the Managing Editor of Toronto FC Community news site Waking The Red, who predicts that the energy will be "electric" at BMO Field this Saturday.
