You don't have to wait for your favourite amusement park to open in order to indulge in some sweet, deep-fried glory. Toronto's free funnel cake giveaway is happening next week, and it's the perfect way to celebrate the season.

Free food always tastes better, and next week you can get a classic fair treat without taking out your wallet.

Funnel Cake Express, Toronto's first and only funnel cake restaurant, is giving away free desserts next week.

In celebration of National Funnel Cake Day, the venue will be offering 5-inch Steam Engine Funnel Cakes free of charge on July 16.

Stop by anytime between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. for your complimentary cake.

The classic, deep-fried treat is dusted with cinnamon and icing sugar and finished off with a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

The shop also has a brand new flavour on the menu for the month of July.

The Strawberry Cheesecake Funnel Cake is loaded with cheesecake chunks, sweet strawberry sauce, and a sprinkle of icing sugar. Who's getting hungry?

Other menu items include The Bullet, which comes with a heap of vanilla soft serve, and deep-fried Mars bars and Twinkies.

The venue recently launched DIY funnel cake kits so you can put on your chef's hat and cook up a batch of these doughy treats at home.

Each set has all the toppings you need to make your sweetest dreams come true, such as caramel, maple syrup, and fruit sauces.
