If you're planning to use the TTC over the Easter long weekend, there are a few service changes and detours that you'll definitely want on your radar.

The TTC will be running a Sunday schedule on Good Friday (April 18), but will start earlier at 6 a.m.

On top of this, the TTC confirmed in a press release shared with Narcity that there will be a number of service changes, diversions and subway closures across the long weekend.

Here's all you need to know:

Easter weekend detours

Good Friday

  • The 506 Carlton streetcar will be diverting from 2:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the St. Francis of Assisi Church Good Friday Procession
  • You might see some delays on the 505 Dundas during the same time

Easter Sunday

  • The 64 Main, 92 Woodbine South, and 501 Queen will be diverting from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the Toronto Beaches Lions Easter Parade

Partial closure on Line 2

On Easter Sunday, there will be no subway service between St. George and Broadview stations on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth until 11 a.m. due to beam replacement work on the Prince Edward Viaduct.

  • Shuttle buses will be available and will stop at each station along the route
  • Bay and Sherbourne stations will be closed
  • All other stations will remain open for PRESTO services and surface route connections

Early nightly closures

From Monday, April 21 to Friday, April 25, Line 2 Bloor-Danforth will close early at 11 p.m. between Jane and Ossington for planned track work.

  • Shuttle buses will replace service
  • Runnymede, High Park, Lansdowne, and Dufferin stations will be closed
  • Other stations stay open for fare purchases and surface connections

Construction notices

There are also a number of construction notices that will affect routes this weekend and into next week.
  • From 11 p.m. tonight (Thursday, April 17), to 5 a.m. on Easter Sunday: The 512/312 St. Clair streetcars will be replaced by buses between St. Clair Station and Gunns Loop for track and station upgrades
  • From Monday, April 21 at 6 a.m. to Thursday, April 24 at 5 a.m: The 501/301 Queen streetcars will be diverting onto King St. between Spadina and Roncesvalles due to city construction. Replacement buses will run on Queen Street between Spadina and Sunnyside

Expect delays, plan ahead, and check before you go — especially if your weekend plans involve street festivals or subway travel.
