Residents reported that hundreds of people showed up.

The Town of Wasaga Beach woke up to a giant mess on Sunday morning after people reportedly flocked to the beach to party over the weekend.

Fed-up residents shared photos of the gathering's messy aftermath, which showed the beach littered with red solo cups, plastic bottles, food containers and more.

According to CTV, residents claim that around 400 party-goers were seen around the beach, and township crews were forced to clean up the sea of garbage afterward.

Some photos even show the garbage making its way up the beach and onto the nearby sidewalks.

"It is extremely disappointing that people had no regard for social distancing when our community has worked so hard to keep our COVID numbers down," Mayor Nina Bifolchi told CTV. "I am completely disgusted with the mess they left behind."
