The Canada-US Border Closure Has Been Extended & This Time It's Until November
Once again, the Canada-U.S. border closure has been extended by an additional month.
On Monday, October 19, Canada's Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair confirmed that the travel restrictions between the two countries will remain in place until at least November 21.
Prior to this update, the border was scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, October 21.

The extended border closure date
In a tweet, Blair explained, “We are extending non-essential travel restrictions with the United States until November 21st, 2020.”
He continued, “Our decisions will continue to be based on the best public health advice available to keep Canadians safe.”
This comes just days after Justin Trudeau discussed the COVID-19 situation in the United States.
On October 14, the PM explained, "[...] We keep extending the border closures because the United States is not in a place where we would feel comfortable reopening those borders."
This also follows a series of conflicting messages from U.S. President Donald Trump.
"We're gonna be opening the borders pretty soon," Trump said back in September, adding, "We want to get back to normal business."
Whether or not the closure will be extended once again come November remains to be seen.
