Mounties in North Vancouver say 150 youth and their chaperones had to be rescued when the vessel they were on ran aground on a sandbar off Vancouver.

RCMP say the vessel was in Burrard Inlet on Friday night and was carrying the group on graduation cruise.

The RCMP's marine unit attended along with the Canadian Coast Guard.

Police say in a statement that those rescue efforts safely brought everyone ashore.

No injuries were reported.

Police say there were no signs of impairment but the cause of the grounding wasn't mentioned in the statement.
