The rattiest cities in Canada were just revealed, and on the list of 10 hubs one province had overwhelming representation, with six cities making the cut.

While Toronto took the number one spot on the list of the 10 rattiest cities in Canada in 2024, B.C. made its mark.

Orkin Canada released its annual list, basing the ranking on "the number of commercial and residential rodent (rat and mice) treatments that Orkin Canada carried out from August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2024."

While Toronto and Vancouver were pretty neck-and-neck, Toronto was ranked as the top rattiest city in the country, while the West Coast city was the runner-up.

B.C. seems to have an issue though, with six out of the top 10 cities on the list being in the province. Vancouver, Kelowna, Burnaby, Victoria, Richmond, and Surrey were all on the ranking, making it clear that B.C. has seriously got some rats.

The top 10 rattiest cities in Canada for 2024 are as follows:

  1. Toronto
  2. Vancouver
  3. Kelowna
  4. Burnaby
  5. Victoria
  6. Mississauga
  7. Richmond
  8. Surrey
  9. Scarborough
  10. St. John's
The Orkin Canada release gave some tips for deterring rodents, like removing clitter, trimming overgrown vegetation, clearing clogged gutters, removing food sources, and sealing entry points of your home. It seems like British Columbians especially will want to take this advice!
