‘Riverdale’ Star Vanessa Morgan’s Husband Filed For Divorce Before Her Pregnancy Reveal

Parting ways. Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech are divorcing just five months after tying the dot in a fairytale wedding earlier this year. The Riverdale actress also recently shared that she's expecting her first child with the baseball pitcher.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Kopech filed for divorce from his wife on June 19 in northeast Texas, as online court records indicate.

The couple tied the knot on January 4 with a lavish ceremony that took place in Homestead, Florida featuring her dress from a Montreal bridal store. Morgan's co-star Madelaine Petsch acted as a bridesmaid and other Riverdale stars including Skeet Ulrich and Drew Tanner were in attendance.
News of the newlyweds' divorce comes just days after the 28-year-old revealed on Instagram that she's pregnant.
"Exciting news... I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January 💙," Morgan wrote in the caption. "This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!!"
She continued, "Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly. Thank you God for this blessing ☺️ I’m just so happy & can’t wait to dedicate everyday to being the best mommy I can be".
Morgan noted that she's "had the blessing of growing up in the public eye" having become an actor at six years old. She claimed she will be giving her child room to grow up outside of the public eye unless he tells her otherwise.
In the series of photos and videos, Kopech is nowhere to be seen and isn't mentioned in her caption.
PEOPLE confirmed that the 24-year-old is the father of the baby, but a representative for the actress declined to comment on the divorce.
However, the Chicago Tribune claims that Kopech decided not to play in this season of baseball for the Chicago White Sox due to "personal reasons."
The last post that Morgan shared with her husband came on April 30 when she wished him a happy birthday.
The couple got engaged in July 2019 after a year of dating which began when they met through social media.
Their engagement photos show off stunning Whistler, B.C. which is nearby where Morgan films Riverdale in Vancouver.
