Calling all true crime lovers! Netflix has dropped the trailer for its brand new series Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel.

The upcoming docuseries focuses on “LA's deadliest hotel” and explores the mysterious death of Elisa Lam, a 21-year-old B.C. student.

Sharing the trailer on January 26, the streaming service quoted a hotel staff member from the video saying, “Is there a room here that somebody hasn’t died in?”

According to the two-minute clip, which provides an insight into the strange goings-on at the L.A. hotel, the location has been described as “hotel death” and “a place where serial killers let their hair down.”

In this series, the disappearance of Elisa Lam is explored, with those involved investigating her unusual behaviour in one of the hotel’s elevators.

In a newsletter shared with Narcity, Netflix revealed that the season will be the first in a new documentary series that “deconstructs the mythology and mystery surrounding infamous locations in contemporary crime.”

“Lam’s disappearance, the latest chapter in the hotel’s complex history, offers a chilling and captivating lens into one of LA’s most nefarious settings," reads the streaming service's message.

The new series will drop on Netflix Canada on February 10, 2021.*
