Now that the Whole Foods poppy ban has come to light, Jagmeet Singh is calling out the grocery chain and pointing out another past controversy.

On Twitter, the NDP leader took aim at Whole Foods for not letting employees in Canada wear poppies while at work.

"It's wrong to ban the poppy," Singh said.

Canadians shouldn't lose the right to honour the sacrifices of veterans when they go to work. Jagmeet Singh

Singh also said wearing a poppy at work is a right "to honour the sacrifices of veterans" that Canadians shouldn't lose.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford also slammed the grocery chain for this decision which he called "disgusting and disgraceful."

Apparently, wearing a poppy doesn't comply with uniform rules at Whole Foods which is why the ban is in place.

Justin Trudeau also weighed in on the situation, retweeting a post from Canada's Veterans Affairs Minister that called the move "absolutely unacceptable."

This isn't the first time Whole Foods has landed in hot water over their policy.

Back in June, employees in the U.S. walked out on the job because they weren't allowed to wear Black Lives Matter face masks.

In his tweet about the poppies, Singh said that it was also wrong when staff weren't allowed to support that movement.
