At the end of each year, all the Canadian capitals light up to transform their snow-covered streets into a bright wonderland.

For its 36th edition, the Christmas Lights Across Canada program will showcase thousands of lights and turn capital cities into magical places with fairytale vibes.

Until January 7, 2021, you can stroll through Ottawa's Pathway of Lights and be charmed by the thousands of dazzling holiday lights brightening up Confederation Boulevard, Canada's ceremonial route that circles the heart of the capital.

Follow the path and admire the illuminated sites including the National War Memorial, the Garden of Provinces and Territories and Confederation Park.

For those who don't live near Ottawa, a virtual tour is available so you won't miss a thing.

At 8 p.m. on December 17, you can check out IllumiNATION online with your family. Narrated by Gregory Charles, the show will be a virtual celebration of the dazzling lights across Canada.

Featuring musical artists Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Canada's Drag Race Superstar Priyanka, artist Theland Kicknosway, and Dominion Carillonneur Dr. Andrea McCrady, this festive virtual presentation is the perfect addition to your holiday activities.

Let yourself be fascinated by the enchanting lights sparkling across the country and enjoy special performances by Annie Villeneuve, JoJo Mason, Jill Barber, Lisa LeBlanc, Kelly Prescott, chefs Katie Ardington and Dominique Dufour, figure-skating duo Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro, and more.
